TOR Baseline survey marketing in Bandung
Nazava Water Filters (www.nazava.com) is looking for two consultants to carry out a baseline study for a marketing plan. The consultants are needed for ten days and can start immediately. Background:
Navava, a company that sells house hold water filters is looking for a marketing strategy to sell its products in Bandung metropolitan area. In order to develop this marketing strategy a baseline survey is needed.
Tasks
1. Identify a strategic location to open a shop:
1.1 make a big list of the different commercial areas/neighbourhoods/streets for household goods in Bandung, segregated per income group:
Group A: poor to low income households
Group B: middle class households
Group C: higher income and rich households
1.2 select the 8 most promising areas/neighbourhoods/streets for the following categories:

1.3 visit this areas and collect the following information
o price shop rent
o type of shops
o type of people that cometo buy consumers or traders
o income group
o safety
o amount of consumers (now and is it going up or down)
o shops that can potential sell our products
o shops that could house a show room of our products
2. Identify strategic locations in shopping malls
2.1 make a list of minimal 100 shopping malls, spread over Bandung
2.2 select the 10 most promising malls in Bandung
2.3 visit shopping malls and collect the following information
· income category of consumers
· type of shops
· amount of consumers (now and what is trend)
· renting costs of shop – open space
3. make a list of potential partners that could be interested in selling our products or housing a show room.
